1) What does this course contribute to your fulfillment of the MLOs?
I believe that this course fulfilled MLO 1 and MLO 2. I feel this course help refine and enhance my skills in Japanese language and for the MLO 2, it gave me further insight in the cultural aspect of Japan.
2) What work did you complete in this learning experience/course that illustrates your development in this area? (Evidence/work you did in this course)?
The class was instructed to work further on our capstone project.
3) What knowledge did you gain from this course that is a significant contribution/outcome for your major/this MLO? (AHA! - moment)
Throughout the class, I was able to continuously practice my Japanese knowledge as I worked on my thesis. I also gained much insight when comparing American with Japanese cultures and traditions and influences. I had a few assumptions and through my capstone, I was astounding at my assumptions turning out to be challenged and resulted in some differences and confirmations.
4) What area do you wish to develop further? (goals)
My speaking...it seems to result always back to my speaking skill. I still feel the weakest in this area, even after the practice and preparation. I really care to master this skill of mind.
5) How do you intend to further explore this learning experience? (Next steps)
I plan to enhance my skill in speaking by either through my career or by taking on extra hobbies when time would allow me to, by this I mean I have to make the time to speak or even read out loud Japanese literature or manga. Perhaps I could even imitate many anime television shows spoken in Japanese in order to better my fluency and pitch.
