1) What does this course contribute to your fulfillment of the MLOs?
This course was very difficult for me from the beginning, yet seemed to have gotten a little easier as the semester went by. This course helped me further my knowledge and practice my skills in writing, comprehension and grammar construction.
2) What work did you complete in this learning experience/course that illustrates your development in this area? (Evidence/work you did in this course)?
The class was instructed to practice answering chapter questions, make presentations and constantly discuss in class about what we had learned or were taught in the previous class session. I feel that due to my reverse culture shock, it had hindered my learning progress throughout the this course.
3) What knowledge did you gain from this course that is a significant contribution/outcome for your major/this MLO? (AHA! - moment)
The most important knowledge I had gained throughout this course, I feel, was the new content I learned through the exercises and discussions within class. I felt very confused in this course, mainly due to the content more than I could understand and as the stress continued to pile up, I felt even more that I could not accomplish what needed to be done. It wasn't until the last month of re-submitting and more re-submitting that there was a click in my head and a feeling that
4) What area do you wish to develop further? (goals)
The area I wish to further develop is my comprehension in writing and speaking. To this day, the weakest points I have is speaking a fluent and speedy conversation with others and creating grammar accurately. I hope to be able to further these skills not only in my free time I will have with my friends across the seas, yet to also in my career as an animator and much whether it be here in America or in Japan.
5) How do you intend to further explore this learning experience? (Next steps)
I intend to further this learning experience by keeping my ties in Japan and even take up reading Japanese literature from time to time.
